TEACHING FOR THE AGE OF AI
We build higher-order learning skills in children so that they can effectively navigate the age of AI.
We impart a new age curriculum that equips children to thrive in the modern world.
WHY TEACH FOR THE AGE OF AI?
This program is designed to equip children from marginalised communities to navigate this emerging world of AI. In partnership with government schools, we develop higher-order thinking skills in children in areas of comprehension, analysis, research, evaluation, problem-solving, and decision-making. This enables them to process information effectively and apply it in a way that adds value in an AI-driven world. It builds a generation of confident, future-ready thinkers.
This project is an offshoot of Samskriya’s earlier Read-A-Way program focused on building reading skills in children to develop better cognitive skills. The program donated storybooks in English and Tamil to government schools, built libraries and created inviting reading spaces in public learning centres.
With time emerged a need for a program where children from marginalised communities could be given the opportunity in an AI-drive world. Reading had to be supplemented with query-based synthesis, evaluation and relevant application of information.
Project Age of AI will enable this through a new-age curriculum to be taught in government schools separate from regular lessons. Reaching classes 6 to 8, the program will use storybooks, audio-visual material, software applications and other engaging forums. It will cover a range of subjects encompassing physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, geography, history, economics, political science and so on. These lessons will aim to help students integrate these acquired higher-order cognitive skills to apply it to their regular school lessons, exams and future learning.
